Sold out today.
Sold again tomorrow.

Sold out isn’t a lost sale — it’s a waiting list you haven’t built yet. Tag everyone who asked, and when the restock lands, one campaign turns the wait into a queue at checkout.

The play

How it works in BIP

  1. Tag the demand as it happens

A customer asks about the sold-out sneaker — on WhatsApp, at the counter, in a DM. Tag them "waiting-neon-drop" via the panel or the API. Ten seconds, done.

  2. Watch the list grow

The tag becomes a live waiting list. The segment "tags include waiting-neon-drop" shows its count in real time — you know exactly how deep the demand runs before you reorder.

  3. Announce to exactly who asked

Restock arrives Tuesday. A one-time campaign goes to the tag — "It’s back, and you asked first" — with their name and a direct link. Then a second step removes the tag so nobody gets next season’s alert by accident.

In practice

84 people asked. 84 people heard first.

A streetwear shop sells out of a limited drop in four hours. Over the next two weeks, 84 people ask about it — each gets tagged. When the reorder lands, the campaign goes out at 10 am: 84 sends, personalized, to people who literally asked to be messaged. No ad budget, no discount needed, and the second drop moves before lunch.

Questions about this play

How do I tag who asked?

Both work. Tag manually from the lead profile, in bulk from a list, or programmatically via the leads API when someone clicks "notify me" on your site.

How do I reset the list after the restock?

Send a campaign that includes a remove-tag step via the API, or clear it in bulk from the panel after the blast — so the list always means "still waiting".

What does a waiting list cost?

Storing the waiting list costs nothing. You pay for the announcement sends — 84 people waiting means the whole play costs 84 sends.
