Wake up the quiet
half of your list

Half your list went quiet — and on BIP those contacts cost you nothing while they sleep. Relative dates find who cooled off, KPIs tell you who is worth the effort, and one campaign makes the case to come back.

The play

How it works in BIP

  1. Define what "cold" means

Build a segment with a relative date: last updated more than 90 days ago. It rolls forward on its own — the segment always means "quiet for 90 days", today and every day after.

  2. Rank who is worth winning back

Nest a KPI criterion on top: lifetime value above 500, or three or more past purchases. Win back the customers who were worth having, not everyone who ever subscribed.

  3. Give them a reason to return

Send a one-time campaign with a reason to return — a comeback offer, what changed since they left, what they missed. Segment on who clicked it, so your next campaign tells the reawakened from the truly gone.

In practice

"We kept your size"

An online store builds the segment on a Monday: no activity in 90 days AND lifetime value above 500. The campaign goes out with a comeback code and the subject line "We kept your size." Who clicks is logged on the campaign — and next month’s win-back excludes them automatically, because the relative date keeps rolling and the click filter keeps sorting.

Is it worth keeping cold contacts in my base?

Storing them is free on BIP — you pay when you message them. A cold list costs nothing until the day you decide to wake it up.

Do I have to rebuild the segment every month?

Relative dates roll automatically: "more than 90 days ago" is recalculated every time the segment is used. Build it once and it stays true.

How do I focus on high-value customers?

Use KPIs — numeric indicators like lifetime value or order count that you update via the API. Filter the segment to the tier you want back.

What about people who unsubscribed?

Respect it. Contacts who opted out are excluded automatically — globally, per channel, or per content topic. A win-back never overrides preferences.
